City of the Sun

Up to 50 percent of the world's manganese, which is a very important metal, used to be mined in Chiatura, in western Georgia. Today, it looks like a post-apocalyptic ghost town. Mzis Qalaqi draws a few of the remaining people. Zurab, a music teacher, takes down run-down concrete buildings and sells the iron girders to make extra money. Archil still works in the mine, but the local amateur theater group is what really gets him excited. Even though they are hungry, two young female athletes train hard for the next Olympics.
