Clínica de Migrantes: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
Puentes de Salud is a volunteer-run clinic in south Philadelphia that serves undocumented immigrants with free medical care. Doctors and nurses volunteer their time to help those who would otherwise fall between the cracks. Maxim Pozdorovkin's powerful film Clinica de Migrantes chronicles months of ordinary treatment and growth for the workers and patients of Puentes. Along the way, the film humanizes the millions of people who live on the periphery of society: those who have been uprooted from their homelands, separated from their families, unfamiliar with local customs, unable to obtain health insurance, and afraid to seek medical assistance.
