They state Hong Kong is your city in Asia. But tonight, a police van was hijacked together with the arms, equipment and also the five officers aboard, one of the hostages being the sole son of police deputy commissioner M.B. Lee! With the chief commissioner away on a conference overseas, the fiery Lee immediately takes control of the rescue operation -- codenamed"Cold War" -- although the mystical kidnappers certainly know the police procedures and are therefore at a valuable position. Objecting into Lee's competitive but useless procedures, one different commissioner Sean Lau steps at this time of crisis to lead the performance. But Lau's careful plan ultimately ends up failing, decreasing the lieutenant in the process' life and the $50 million cash ransom. The ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) begins to analyze Lau and Lee on feeling of having hidden ties into the kidnappers...
