Jackie Moon is the owner, promoter, coach, and Celebrity player of This Flint Michigan Tropics of the American Basketball Association (ABA). In 1976 ahead of the ABA collapses, the National Basketball Association (NBA) plans to merge together with all the very best teams of the ABA at the end of the season. The top four teams could make the move and the teams will likely soon fold. The Tropics would be the worst team in the league and also Jackie Moon must rally his team and start winning if they want to make it into the NBA. The problem is the fact that Jackie Moon is not really the trainer and star basketball player he thinks he is. Leave his own mark in the city and to continue to keep his team against oblivion, Jackie Moon has to inspire his team to acquire fourth place.
