Cheers
Cheers is an American sitcom television series that ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. It was created by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television for NBC and made by the team of Glen Charles, James Burrows, and Les Charles. The series is set at a bar by which a group of sailors match to unwind, drink, and socialize named Cheers at Boston, Massachusetts. The show's theme song, written and played by Gary Portnoy, and co-written with Judy Hart Angelo, lent its famous refrain,"Where Everyone Knows Your Name", since the show's tagline.
It was nearly canceled throughout its very first season as it ranked last in ratings for the premiere after premiering on September 30, 1982. Cheers finally became a highly rated television series in the United States, earning a top-ten rating including one season at number 1. The series spent almost all of its run on NBC's Thursday night"Must See TV" line up. Its series finale was aired on May 20, 1993, and the show's 275 episodes have been syndicated worldwide. Nominated on the atmosphere for several eleven of its seasons, 28 Emmy Awards have been got by it from the 117 nominations. The personality Frasier Crane was featured in his eponymous spin-off series, which aired up before 2004 and included guest appearances by virtually all the major and minor Cheers characters.
