The Cosby Show is an American television situation comedy starring Bill Cosby, which aired for eight seasons on NBC from September 20, 1984. The series focuses on the Huxtable family, an African-American family residing in Brooklyn, New York. According to TV Guide, the series"has been television's greatest hit in the 1980s, and also almost completely restored the sitcom genre and NBC's ratings fortunes". The series had been pitched. Entertainment Weekly stated that The Cosby Show helped make possible a bigger variety of exhibits from In Living Color.
