The Philanthropist is a action drama series which premiered on NBC on Wednesday. This program proved to be a summer collection that was limited , mostly filmed in South Africa. It started to strong ratings, but watched a drop in audiences in subsequent weeks. The Philanthropist is a Carnival Films production in association with The Levinson/Fontana Company and Original Media. Barry Levinson, tom Fontana, Peter Horton, Charlie Corwin, Gareth Neame, and Teri Weinberg served as executive producers. On October 2 1, 2009, the series was canceled by NBC. Fans tries to keep the show on the air using face-book and also a charitable cause referred to as"Save The Philanthropist during Charity" were unsuccessful.
