Hurricane Streets

Marcus is a hoodlum in Manhattan. His father died and his mother was convicted of bringing unauthorized immigrants into the US. His grandmother is his guardian. His friends shoplift and sell the goods to children in their basement clubhouse. One is pursuing drug sales. Marcus wishes to escape the city and visit family in New Mexico. Melena,14, is a sweet girl who dreams of moving to Alaska; her protective, furious, and uncommunicative father is also a sweet boy. The gang pushes Marcus to commit car and burglary. He simply needs fresh air. Is there a chance?
